Wels catfish night fishing
Intentional night fishing for wels catfish is strictly prohibited.
If a wels catfish is accidentally caught at night, it must not be kept in captivity, removed from the water, and must be released immediately.
Buoy fishing
Buoy fishing is strictly prohibited in all rivers of the Rhône department. Moreover, this fishing technique is dangerous for ship navigation.
Maximum length limit
In the Lyon city crossing on Rhône river, on the "lac des Eaux Bleues" in Miribel-Jonage park and Colombier lake, wels catfishs must be released beyond 170 cm (66,9 inches)
Abandon of wels catfish carcasses : STOP !
- Offences punished by a 3750€ fine (L228-5 article from the rural code and sea fishing)
- Disastrous image (and smell !) send to public
